I have exciting news: I found a used saxophone for Mae. Instead of paying $2,500 for a new one in installments or $1,500 at the buy-it-now price, I paid… $75. That's not a typo. No, it's not the name brand everybody else recommends, but if it lasts us for even two months, we’ll come out money ahead. It appears to be in great shape and was only used for a few years. I'll of course take it to the music store for a tune-up.
When I brought it home to Mae, she was ecstatic. She doesn't know the difference between an instrument that costs as much as a used car and one that costs as much as dinner at Denny's. That’s why kids are great.
I got a huge rush of adrenaline from that find, and now I want more. Time to live vicariously through you. What's the best deal you've gotten for something on the second-hand market? I can’t wait to hear about your amazing finds. Sound off in the comments.
