We planned on a fun night of trick-or-treating. We didn’t expect our house to become a crime scene.
Per usual, our Midwest weather was as uncooperative as possible. Halloween in Indiana could be 70 degrees or 40 degrees with nothing in between. Tuesday night was 40 with snow flurries. Fortunately, I was sealed off from the great outdoors by a box of steel. I planned to stay in the minivan as our official getaway driver. My children had no such protection. They threw on their Minions onesies over their regular clothes and added gloves so their candy snatching fingers didn’t freeze together. We were ready for a night out on the town. The town wasn’t ready for us.
