Remember that fun new disease everybody is catching? Welp. I got it, too.
Don’t worry, I’m fine. Although I suppose “fine” is relative. If you want to get technical, I haven’t been fine at any point in my adult life. Just ask my wife. But in medical terms, I was mostly over my symptoms before I even had the test results back saying I have covid. What’s not “fine,” though, are our plans for Christmas. I single handedly managed to ruin them for my entire family a full two weeks in advance, which is overachieving, even for me. Usually, I at least have to wait until the day of an event before I mess it up. Because I have a positive test result AND symptoms, my family’s quarantine period is different than last time, when my ten-year-old, Betsy, tested positive but remained asymptomatic. Last time, the two weeks of isolation ran simultaneously for everyone in our house. This time, the quarantine period for the rest of the family extends a full two weeks after mine ends.
