I had three big events in my life this week. Actually, “big” might be an overstatement. Let’s just say I had three events in my life that were less unimportant than usual.
First, I had a tweet go viral, which helped me gain thousands of followers across my various social media accounts. Now I have a much larger audience to disappoint. If you were one of the 142,000 people who liked my viral tweet, thanks for making that happen. And if you’re not one of the people who liked it, good for you. I like independent thinkers. Just not as much as I like the people who click the like button.
Second, I officially earned out the advance on my book. Basically, my book publisher paid me money up front based on how many copies of my book they thought I would sell. If I sold less than that, I would get to keep the advance, but my writing career would take a serious hit. If I sold more than that, however, the publisher would owe me money, and I would have a much easier time of getting future books publ…
