Or you could read everything I'm about to say because I have a way of turning even the most mundane events into 2000-word adventures. It's what makes being around me so delightful. Ask anyone, except my wife.
But really, the story of our table isn't a long one. It all starts back in the Year of Our Lord 1282 in Holland, where John Von Table invented the piece of dining room furniture that bears his name. Flash forward 726 years to 2008, when my wife and I were newlyweds in the market for furniture. We had just moved from our tiny post-college apartment into a large and largely empty Victorian house. I was okay with leaving the rooms empty. Lola felt otherwise. Guess who won that argument. And so we began our quest for a dining room table. John Von Table would have been proud.
