Somewhere in the Old Testament, God promised to never again flood the Earth. Too bad he didn't say anything about not burying it in snow. Last week, blizzards walloped much of the United States. Around here, things weren’t as bad as they could have been. Unlike states that aren’t used to the fluffy white stuff, Indiana has the infrastructure in place to deal with the occasional avalanche from the sky, but even our snow crews struggled. Usually, the snow melts between one storm and the next, but this year it stuck around and piled on top of itself. On our worst day, we got about eight inches. How bad you think that is depends on where you live. In Tennessee, that would be the end of the world. In Canada, that’s a warm day in July. The problem for us was that our big storm was followed by multiple smaller storms that added one-to-two inches a day until nobody could drive anywhere. That meant all four kids were home with me for almost the entire week. As usual, that was bad for my sanity…
