Although I feel sad it wasn't as crowdy as last year (the flurry of declines gave me Order 66-like vibes), it's great you got to play games and have fun with younger part of your pack! I totally agree with your belief it hopefully is a feature in heaven (just like in this meme where JRR Tolkien is the DM in saints' D&D sessions). And I also like that F1 was there in the background! Hopefully next year's edition will see the return of some of this year's absentees. But if in the future you experience shortage of dudes and would like to extend the invitation to volunteering internet strangers, I'm gonna sign up😁!

Bro-by-proxy weekends work. Good company and good times equals good memories and good writings.

That is an excellent term. I'll add it to my vocabulary.

It looks like an amazing trip! If you go to Britain next time the drinking age is eighteen, so maybe Nathaniel could tag along. I can't make promises about the weather but there's boardgames and booze!

A tad farther than central Illinois, but I'm sure it's more than worth the trip!

Yes, a parent trying to arrange a family gathering. … just pick a date. And whoever shows up, shows up 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧.... 👨‍👧‍👧....

Sometimes I have to do that with my own kids and they all still live at home.

Just an odd idea, how about rather than a giant everyone brocation you try miniature ones? Who lives closest to Harry? Do a two or three bro get together. Just a full day rather than an entire weekend? And maybe less focus on booze and cardboard and more on just hanging out. Or a drift down a river? I love cardboard and booze, sadly hubs doesn’t like either!

Nice you had a good time. Sounds like torture to me, but I’m not a guy.

Now we want to know ( or I want to know as a fellow BGG) what games were played.

This sounds so fun! I'm usually the one planning and waiting for people to cancel (but hoping they don't) so I know how that feels. Keep trying - if you build it they will come!

An amazing silver lining in that cloud! I love it when that happens.
