Fun fact. When those detailers vacuum & clean the inside of your vehicle, they actually BLOW air to loosen the stuff that is really stuck in the carpet & seats. The local mobile guy has an air compressor just for this purpose. So it's vacuum, blow, vacuum, then use the carpet cleaner. I'm too cheap to pay them to do it, but if I ever get unlazy, might give it a try.
Nope. Get one that plugs into your lighter, got mine from Menards for less than $20. Will take longer than the fancy ones, but it does work (at least to air up the tire, I haven't tested it just blowing air, see the lazy comment?) and has great air pressure!
What a coincidence that I was cleaning my car this past Saturday! Though I'd probably put doing it for later, my motivation for doing it now was thanks to three reasons: 1) I've set a goal of cleaning the interior at least once a year; 2) it's still summer and warm, which makes it easy and somewhat enjoyable to perform; 3) I wanted to evade the shame of dirty vehicle during Sunday car blessing, which happens on many church parking lots here, due to a folk tradition linked with a feast day of St. Christopher, patron saint of drivers (and also my dad's of baptism [in polish it's written Krzysztof] - Happy Name Day, Dad!)
I hate to say this so please sit down, there are industrial vacuums at all the "fancy" drive in car washes and you will not believe this, there FREE to use for paying clients! So next time after dong the interior, yes before you vacuum,then go get the low end car wash ($10 TO $15) and vacuum your van out, Six hours become two and you get your valuable time back which has to be worth that much. Clean outside , clean inside. Plus you get a solo road trip that could possibly go near an ice cream place you can hid at for a break from it all ! Or you could do it your way the choice is yours.
I pondered that, but I'm not sure how much more powerful they really are. I had a very good, nearly brand new name brand vacuum at home. I'll experiment with the car wash one when I get motivated again in five years.
This is where you go psy-ops on the kiddos. You tell them you’re gonna do one of those til-tok video thingys where it’s a before and after deal where cleaning your van is the project. If they get X number of views they get to pick a place to eat out, or pizza, both of which you like. Your van gets cleaned, and you get to eat out. Win-win.
I need to vacuum my car. But it's really hot outside. I don't mind running it through the carwash but, getting out, emptying trash and vacuuming will make me hot and sweaty! That's a sure fire way to make me cranky. And when Mama's cranky, ain't nobody happy.
Stick with the heat excuse. If it had been five degrees warmer outside, I wouldn't have even considered it. Sounds like a good activity for winter, or never.
The public needs to know what the recommended window cleaner is!

Once a year is dedication! I'm currently at once per life of the vehicle. I need to level up.

This is a brilliant strategy, but it won't work on my kids. They'd rather go without pizza forever than vacuum.
