Mine got off to a great start. Last week, I told you how my kids’ school and daycare programs were all closed indefinitely, leaving us scrambling for childcare. Our solution was to hire my sister, Sasha, who was home from her law school, which was also closed. That arrangement lasted for all of one day. Then my day job sent me home. For those of you who are new to this mailing list, yes, I have a day job. Writing books is great, but it doesn’t come with health insurance or a steady income in the face of unforeseen events, like, for example, if my entire book tour were to be canceled due to a rapidly spreading super virus. Not that that’s ever happened to me or anything. My day job’s official policy was that no one could ever telework because we’re all a bunch of deadbeats who can’t be trusted to work at home (I also can’t be trusted to work at work, but they still haven’t caught on).
