After you've been with someone for a number of years, you'd like to think you know their full range of emotions. You’ve seen their highest highs and their lowest lows. Then you have kids, and you realize every emotion can be amplified beyond anything you could previously imagine. Your heart will know love so strong it feels like cardiac arrest, which means your life is full and also you should probably see a doctor. And as for anger, well, it enters the realm of the supernatural. You don’t truly know its power until your sweet, innocent child, who you love more than anything in the world, looks you in the eye and does something you specifically and repeatedly told them not to do, then acts as if you’ve never told them not to do it before. Apparently the previous 10,000 times, you were talking to yourself. It’s the kind of anger that can make an entire prom burst into flames. And it’s the kind of anger my wife unleashed this weekend.
