I've decided to be a dad who does things. This is a big change from my previous goal of being a dad who avoids doing things at all costs. Doing nothing is still my favorite activity in the world, but my kids are older now and not quite as hard to move around. All of them are potty trained (allegedly), and as long as we limit ourselves to day trips, the supplies we have to take with us are minimal. Or at least minimal by parenting standards. Before, going even a mile down the road required a baggage train worthy of the Army of the Potomac. Now, we can get by if we pack a few extra tissues. Not that our kids will ever use them when they each have two perfectly good sleeves.
