The day after my covid test came back positive, my wife Lola and three of my kids took the test for a second time. My ten-year-old, Betsy, was exempt because she had a positive test result in the last ninety days. She was overjoyed. Getting that stick jabbed up her nose and into her brain had been far more traumatic than actually having covid, which didn’t give her any symptoms at all. The other kids were less than thrilled that they would need a second brain-jabbing on account of me. Lola did her best to psych them up. She took her test first in the morning, so she knew that this one was going to be bad. The nurses at our new testing site went way deeper than the first time around.
