It's a good thing I never learn my lesson or I'd run out of things to write about. The kids are off school on Wednesday for a teacher in-service day. Lola and I took the day off, too, giving us the perfect chance for a quick midweek family outing. Mother nature never knows what she's doing in Indiana. March 1st could be 70 degrees or 20 below zero with 3 inches of snow on the ground. This time, the forecast called for unseasonably warm weather. This gave us a chance for a rare day of outdoor activities in early spring. Take that, Punxsutawney Phil.

We had three choices for the day: We could go to the kids' favorite children's museum, we could have a movie day at home, or we could go hiking at a state park. The children were not exactly thrilled about the idea of going for a long walk for no reason.
