A man only needs two friends in his life: one with a truck, and one with a boat. My boat guy is my former college roommate/gnome thief extraordinaire Rocco (a.k.a., “Legs” in my latest book). Exploiting that friendship to its fullest, I took my whole family last weekend to hang out with Rocco and his ultra powerful speedboat on the largest lake in Wisconsin. If you think my kids cause chaos on land, you should see them rocketing across the water at twice the speed of sound. Okay, maybe it wasn’t quite that fast, but we were able to outrun their cries of joy/terror. Out on the lake, no one can hear you scream.
