Wait, wait, wait...all I wanna know is this; what is this easier way to open grocery store bags?!

Again, great stuff that sadly resonates with me. Happy birthday!

Morning James. I’ll be 65 in September and man, did that last point hit hard, in a good way. I spent to much of my life worrying about my mistakes, all of which I can’t change. When I was younger I spent to much time thinking about the future, which, as it turns out I way WAY off. Now I just live in the day. When someone ask me what were going to do tomorrow I tell them I have no ideal what we’re having for dinner today. Which is a problem because I do all the cooking. I’ll know by 5. Idon’t think I’ve ever heard it all put so well. You right about the other points but that one. Dead on.

I’m really really late shopping for that coffin. Jimmy Stewart was my idol as a kid. The older I get the more I realize how quickly life goes by and when you’re my age you’re totally invisible ( except for pharmaceutical ads). You’re so young it kinda makes me laugh but your points are totally valid. Have a wonderful trip!

Oh, thanks for the warning signs, and yes, they are all true! Being born in a year ending in 9 is problematic for any quick math calculation so I never really know what age I am which is most likely a good thing. I giggled when you said "the slow and steady march toward death". I would have agreed with you at your age, but at mine, it is "the fast trot toward the finish line". And with my fading eyesight, being able to see it means it isn't that far away. Enjoy your 37th year and make just enough mistakes to make it interesting!

Yes we are all just a blip, and I will learn to let go of anything embarrassing

Thank you. I really needed that ending.

Fantastic content, as always. And you're so right-- and I tell myself often-- it doesn't matter what others think of you, but how you yourself think of you. Be quirky, be weird, and love those whom you want.

Your articles usually make me giggle and or guffaw, this one dressed me. You’re forcing me to look at my own mortality. I’ll be 60 next month and until now I have been blissfully ignoring/suppressing my aging process. Thanks a lot pal.

Its great listening to your life, since you are only a month older than me.

My Dad, who was born in 1973, often tells me that his PESEL (which is a special 11-digit code, unique for every citizen of Poland, starting with last two digists of birth year) says "look at me". And in his case, most of the points applies. Especially the first one. When he's going upstairs, everything sort of "clicks", making it easy to recognise that it's him going nearby.

Tom Cruise is and always will be older than me...and that’s my self-evaluation of age. LOL It works, because I was born in a year ending in 7, so not only do I regularly forget how old I am and have to calculate it, the math gets harder and harder! I majored in History (single, not double), so I know who Charlemagne was. Bonus points to me!

Loved this one! Agree kids and family are what’s important...which is just as well, as I’ve a terrible memory so don’t recall all those old, embarrassing stories!

I’m so glad I was born at the beginning of a year ending in 0. Calculating my age is easy! And I only age myself up for a month. Prepare yourself now, because it goes downhill fast with each milestone birthday. But you also get other perks, like senior discounts - some start at 50! Taking risks and doing what you love, with people you love, is the best thing! Happy belated birthday!

Thanks for the last part of the email - I needed to hear it, and I need to remember it. Maybe a poster or a nice throw pillow to enhance you past books. But seriously- I need to take things less to heart and enjoy life.
