Cards against Humanity is a great “group” game (esp when drinking is involved) I always laugh so hard I hurt the next day from the abdominal workout 🤣

Absolutely wonderful read. There's another fun game that you should try sometime, Operation, whereas if you get buzzed, you drink a shot of your favorite alcohol, and then move one. Ten ties out of ten, the patient dies.

I have two interesting versions of Monopoly, Zombieopoly and Call of Cthulhu-opoly. They are great and interesting and require a select and certain mindset to play; with the first, you gotta love Zombies, live Zombies and think like zombies. The second, it helps to have read at least some of H.P. Lovecraft's stories; the list is varied and interesting. Actually, think of this version as a super ramped-up version of the first game with Elder gods and creatures whose names you might be able to pronounce given the right amount of alcohol consumed.

Have a great day/week and month. Soon, your children will off to school, terrorizing other students and teachers.

Thank you again for the great read.

I soooo want to be your friend hahaha !! Would have shown up and crashed there too and maybe I'd be still there ^^

On a totally unrelated note, I can't read the name of your lovely wife Lola without "singing" it Loolaaaaa, like in this French song: https://youtu.be/i52bm1XUL0E

Beautiful name !

For what it’s worth, men also really enjoy Marrying Mr. Darcy. Last time she was here, my mom really wanted to play it because some ladies she volunteers with at the library were talking about how fun it was and that their husbands get really into it. My homophobic stepdad was adamant that there was NO WAY he was playing that game. My mom begged him, and my husband assured him it wouldn’t turn him gay, and he finally relented. Of the four of us playing, my stepdad probably got the most intense about it, and he either won the game or came in second. My husband, who has next to zero Jane Austen knowledge, also really got into it, so you don’t need to be a fan of Pride and Prejudice or Jane Austen to have fun and be successful (as was evident in your game, as well).

I 💕love💕 board games! I could never get too many people to play them with me though.😞 I haven’t played a board game in decades. I would have loved your party, even tho I recognized none of the games!😂

THIS IS SUCH A TRUTH! <<As a Midwesterner, I would rather die than let anyone go home less than absolutely stuffed.>> A friend who grew up in Wisconsin can NOT understand why I make twice as much food as necessary whenever we have dinners together! I mean, did you even have a party if you do not eat leftovers for the next week?!!

I totally get the not letting folks go home hungry thing - in addition to being a Midwestern thing, it is a Jewish thing, so I was raised that way.

I want to come to a game party at your house! I’ll even bring some beer and food! I think it sounds super fun. I can’t even get my kids to agree which game to play, so we rarely do (although Clue is popular with all 3 of them, but if my oldest loses she doesn’t want to play any more). 🤷‍♀️ I think it is wonderful you have this friend event -- and what a great model it is to teach your kids, that not all fun involves screens :-)

Glad the weekend party was successful! We started playing games with friends a year or so ago because I think we were all bored to death of repeating stories of our younger days. Double Ditto and Mexican Train are the two we play the most but I am ready to try others. Actually, I love 100,000 Pyramid based on the TV show of many years ago but never can get anyone much interested in it.

" but I’ve heard good things about a certain horse with no name". Thank you for reminding me of a great song from my youth! :)

"been through the desert on a horse with no name".... You're too young to know that song.😉

The Game of Life, Aggravation, and Trouble always raised the decibel level in my family.

Risk and Kingmaker were initially quiet while plotting tactics, but trash talk inevitably ensued.

Are you even playing if you don't denigrate your opponents?

When I was younger I used to be the one who hosted kid parties. Parents would drop their children off on New Year's Eve and I would ring in the New Year and stay up with kids who had way too much sugar to eat. Only to wake up New Year's Day for my dad to serve funnel cake and ice cream for breakfast. Fast forward now and I'm kid free (11 years of working with kids wore me out) and my idea of a party is crashing on the couch in front of a good movie with my significant other.

just finished reading my autographed copy of How To Be A Man". Great book. Keep up the good work. It might not pay millions but it helps me keep a lighter eye on life and, hopefully, keeps your kids in pizza and candy along with plenty of boardgames for you and your wife!! A Big fan, Shelley

Love board games! There is a video of me playing Hollywood Game Nights that definitely needs to go away - it appears that in all the excitement I decided shouting the same clue louder and louder would help my team guess it. I must have expected bonus points for jumping up and down. I lose perspective once a game starts, and it's all life and death for me from that point forward. The second time we played Sequence with my parents (where they kept acting like it was the first time they played and insisted they didn't know the rules), they kept making moves that messed up their own teams because they kept forgetting they were part of a team and were trying to win by themselves, and my sister and I almost disowned them. It was very heated.

I love board games but can’t get anyone in my family to play. So disappointed in them. 🤷‍♀️

So if you're a complete noob on the more advanced board games (difficulty higher than say, Risk or Monopoly), what's a good game to start with to gain experience with the rules?
