Must of been one of those weekends. One of my dogs must have found something they shouldn’t eat and I had two rounds of indoor diarrhea 🤢 to clean up Saturday and Sunday. Did somebody make the patron saint of animals mad?
There’s certain to be a Blessing of the Animals at an Episcopal Church near you in early October (10/4 this year, I think). I highly recommend as an extra measure of insurance (and free!). At my church we bless photos of less transportable critters!
I about didn't get through this newsletter because of Onyx's troubles. It was amusing to read about but I sure wouldn't want to have had to deal with that experience. It reminded me of my mom's opinion for raw meat she thought was probably too old/smelly/funny-looking for her to cook: "Give it to the dog, she can eat anything." Anyway, how you could eat pizza right after the cleanup is beyond me.
Happy birthday to Waffle! Lucky girl, always getting her own cake and party!
I think you could share that picture of the TV set up widely on the internet, and it would become the top item on Pinterest among teen-aged boys in about 3 seconds flat. I’m thinking it looks like it would be very popular! What a fun weekend (except for the vomit bit).
I’m sad to hear Onyx is going…but sounds like it isn’t soon enough.
You married a saint! Lola must love you down to your atoms to deal with pig vomit, urine, and eating anything and everything that they can reach. Little Miss Waffle looks very happy. I hope she had a great birthday.
Where to start? So many moments of good laugh and plenty of thoughts...
I love your concept of Halo Day! It's sounds perfect and way better than the Minecraft Fridays we had during the pandemic (and from time to time since) with few of my mates on our online server. You just have inspired me to make some improvements. We did also few NYEve's on laptops in an arrangement similar to your setup, just adding a table with junk food in the middle. Your preparations i. e. cleaning all the surfaces in the house, reminded me of those I've done the time I hosted our gaming meetup. Pardon a bold statement, but I presume our teen selves would be best of friends.
It still fascinates me that animals can sometimes eat things one wouldn't suspect them of. Family's cat is likewise a "walking garbage disposal" to an extent. We found that out when sb saw her eating moldy cheese from the compost and not vomitting or having diarrhea afterwards.
What happened when you went for pizza is the perfect example of this meme in reality: https://imgflip.com/memegenerator/195521355/Surprised-Pizza-Delivery . I can however imagine your eating pizza after cleaning - this is a rare occasion when having weakend sense of smell thanks to permanent rhinitis is helpful. But I'm confident I'd still smell more than enough of pig puke/mold and I feel sorry for what you had to clean through (I have nothing but sheer admiration for Lola's patience towards those animals for the last couple of weeks. And last but not least her baking skills, because that cake is looking awesome!).
I think I found another reason for why your game session went so well - you became better than the teenagers that beat you all these previous years, having now some among your ranks.
Your Minecraft meetups sound like a blast. I have nothing but respect for that game. It's video game Legos. If that came out when I were a kid, I would have been on it every waking hour of the day. I only clean for them as an adult. As a teen, nobody cared, especially me. We all just wallowed in our own filth.
It took some time, but even before becoming teenager I couldn't stand mess and the thought someone might see it. Maintaining order and recreating it prior to guests visiting are among my aversion to swearing the greatest upbringing successes of my parents.
Happy Birthday Waffle 🎂! Is she into double digits now? She’s adorable and looks very much like her Dad. By the way your wife is a saint! I bet February can’t come soon enough!

They must all be in the same forum coordinating with each other.

I can't get the image out of my mind now......Lola is a saint!!!!
When she finally dumps me, no one to be surprised.
“They better not dig up another Balrog.” What did they do with the first one?!
Happy Birthday, Waffle! Your cake rocks!
Onyx scared it away!
I don't know, but hope they didn't try to remake this Internet hit from several years ago (here's a reupload):

Happy birthday, Waffle! 🥳 🎂
Lola does an amazing job with cakes! We had dog puke and cat hairballs to clean up over the weekend. Dog vomit is awful.
I don't care what they eat just as long as whatever they eat doesn't come back out.

Happy birthday to Waffle.....she is adorable.
When it's too gross for a pig/dog, you know you're really in trouble.
Happy birthday, Waffle! I love your cake! 🎂
Happy birthday to Waffle, and kudos to Lola for the fabulous cake!
Sound like the weekend was full of extreme highs and lows. You must be exhausted.
The chaos energizes me. The rest of the family, not so much. I'm pretty sure Lola could sleep until next week.
Happy birthday to Waffle! Lucky girl, always getting her own cake and party!

Her birthday was as good as the pig emergency was bad. This weekend had it all.

All the best to Waffle!

Oooh! I love the wider views of your house! Gorgeous!
I couldn’t detect any odor at all - good job on the cleaning! But again, deep sympathy for the long-suffering and baking-inspired Lola!
Someday I'll add smells to this newsletter and my subscriber count will drop to zero.
You are a true Pig-friend (like Elf-friend, but for Pigs). A few sentences sounded LOTR-esque!
Glad that Onyx is now ok and that everyone had a fabulous time playing Halo.
Onyx would fit in the world of Lord of the Rings. He's always ready for his next adventure, even if the rest of us are not.
Perhaps he's the next incarnation of the legendary hog of Dain's, seen in"The Battle of the Five Armies"!
.....was the Pizza 🍕 pepperoni and sausage? 😁
One pepperoni and one cheese. Don't tell the pigs.

It's better not to know.
