As usual, I read the newsletter twice to figure out which passages were the funniest - so hard to choose because there were so many hilarious comments! The roving Waffle band of kids reminded me of the book Tom Sawyer. Everyone is a trivia master on at least one subject, even if that subject has to be very narrowly defined.
We went one time to trivia at a brewery and did not do well. There were a lot of us and we had to break into teams of four. There was my husband and myself and two older women, who sadly were not trivia people. I would definitely like to do it again but with another set of people.
It's like football. You can't truly blame any one bad play. Well, there ARE some last minute ones that can screw the pooch (heh, showing my age). Like loosing at the goal line in the last play...luckily that didn't happen to us..GO CHIEFS! The point is IF we had lost there was bound to be people who blame so and so but we didn't so it's all good.
Sounds like great fun. I've only played Trivial Pursuit, back in the days when it was first popular. And I was only terrific at Entertainment and Sports and occasionally I'd nail some History points. Forget the dreaded Science and Arts & Literature, And the older I get, the more I don't remember, so guess I won't be asked to be on a trivia team because I absolutely hate to lose!
A former boss and his wife invited me to join them at a trivia night. We all played separately and I won 2 out of 3 matches. I was not asked back. hahahahaha! I love a sore loser.
Waffle is going feral in a bicycle gang? God help your neighborhood!

Of course Memphis and Nashville! Your team was way off with their ÇA suggestions. Good on you!

I would probably have gone with Hollywood and Los Angeles (my hometown!) too, but might have been swayed by your logic
