I once moved my 10-ish year old daughter's bed away from the wall and we found... in, under, and behind the bed... 13 dirty socks. Six and 1/2 pairs of socks. #mindblown

What I don't miss is the dirty underwear on the floor and the time I spent sniffing panties to see if they were clean or dirty. That didn't stop till they were old enough to do their own laundry

I don't have children yet (my first is on the way) but I know this fight well. I've spent my entire relationship with my husband so far trying to get him to understand that dirty socks go in the dirty laundry hamper. We've gotten to the point that, if I look him in the eye and point at the socks on the ground with an eyebrow raised, he'll do that mischievous giggle, the kind kids do when they know they broke the rules but aren't actually expecting to get in any trouble, and pick up his socks. Honestly, I think I'm ready for this whole motherhood thing.

I find dirty socks everywhere. Including between the cushions of the couch. Yet they are never anywhere near the laundry hamper.

Even if the socks make it to the laundry basket they will still be inside out! P.S. you're lucky they're girls' socks- teenage boys' socks are exponentially more gross, IMO... (Why did the dog eat many, many socks? You already know the answer.)

I think this idea is great! I hope you continue to keep these behind-the-scene explanations rather short, because of time issues. I do, however, love to listen to your voice. Not that I'm weird or anything but it's perfect for a comedy writer, in my mind at least.

My kids (slightly older than Betsy) manage to get their socks into the hamper…but for the life of them, can’t get them right-side-out. So I wash them, but refuse to fold them. Love your comics, so really looking forward to this aspect of the site. :-)

Thank you again for sharing. I wish I had the budget to support you and the great way you get to work in a way you really love. I hope to find a way to do something in my own life that I love and be able to keep living a decent middle/upper-middle class life.

I'll miss not being able to see the extra stuff, and it's so great you have let us see these for a sample, as it definitely would convince me to subscribe were it in my means.

Wishing you all the best, and perhaps someday in the future I'll support you more fully, but for now, I'll keep liking and commenting on your posts on facebook, and reading the newsletter and posts I have access to.
