My kids have a remarkably short memory. In some ways, that's good. Perhaps they'll forget the trauma, which is probably most of their childhoods. With luck, short memories will help them survive my parenting, but in other ways, it's a huge drawback.
The other day, one of my kids suggested that we go to a corn maze. Well, I say suggested, but with kids suggestions are really more of accusations. I believe it was phrased like, “Why don't we ever go to a corn maze?” But if you read my newsletter, you will recall that we, in fact, did go to a corn maze last year. I did much research and I drove the whole family out there and everybody hated it.
Well, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the maze itself. I hated that my kids hated it. And then I hated life in general as they made me hate everything. It was basically just a long walk in a cornfield. There was nothing to see, but corn. I mean, that shouldn't really be surprising. It is a corn maze. The kids were not into it at all.
